Dr Tony Ng is the Consultant Anaesthesiologist and Pain Physician at the Department of Anaesthesia and Operating Theatre Services, Tuen Mun Hospital, Hong Kong. He is also an Honorary Clinical Associate Professor at the Department of Anaesthesiology in the University of Hong Kong and an Honorary Consultant at the Center for Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine in Taipei Municipal Wan Fang Hospital, Taipei Medical University.
Dr Ng takes an active role in international and local academic events. Recently he was the faculty member of International Symposium on Spine and Paravertenral Sonography for Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine, Hong Kong in Nov 2021, and the faculty member of International Symposium of Ultrasound, Toronto in Jun 2021.
While multimodal analgesia has long been advocated in acute postoperative pain management, the demand of better acute pain control has been increasing in the ERAS era. With the recent endeavor to promote perioperative medicine worldwide, we will look into its impact on acute postoperative pain control and how we can do better apart from the multimodal analgesia approach.
