Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of the Organizing Committee, I would like to extend this invitation to you to join the Annual Scientific Meeting in Anaesthesiology (ASM), which is jointly organized by the Hong Kong College of Anaesthesiologists and the Society of Anaesthetists of Hong Kong.

The theme of this year’s meeting is “Overcoming the Risks”. As a perioperative physician or a healthcare provider amidst the pandemic, the word “risk” encompasses diverse meanings to each of us. We will gather experts from the local community and across the globe to share with you on how to stratify and mitigate the risks in different settings or subspecialties. The Organizing Committee has also put together various workshops to keep up with the latest trends within and across disciplines. We are honoured to organize the first ever Basic Neuromonitoring workshop as well as a focused transthoracic echocardiography workshop that may interest some of you.

All of us have been through a period like no others. We admire and appreciate your tenacity to pursue new knowledge and better clinical practice that will ultimately benefit our patients. ASM 2021 is going to be the most important knowledge exchanging platform in Hong Kong. We look forward to overcoming the barriers of physical distancing and reconnecting with you through live discussions, recorded lectures, and physical workshops in the meeting.
