Dr Sylvia Au is a graduate of The Chinese University of Hong Kong and is currently the director of cardiac anaesthesia servicve at the Prince of Wales Hospital Hong Kong. She is a member of the Aortic Multidisciplinary Team which was awarded the most outstanding team in NTEC in 2018. She was one of the lead anaesthetists involved in establishing anaesthetic services for cardiac intervention centre at Prince of Wales Hospital. In addition to providing anaesthesia for routine open heart surgeries and structural heart interventions such as TAVI, recently her team has also been involved in a number of novel catheter based structural heart interventions such as transcathether mitral valve replacement and transcaval approach TAVI.  Her special interests are 3D echocardiography in open heart surgery, cardiac catheter-based procedures and patient blood management.
