Dr Chris Evans is an anaesthetic trainee by background, currently completing a PhD at UCL exploring the impact of design, technology and innovation on children’s anxiety before surgery. Chris has created Little Journey – a platform designed to remotely support children and their parents undergoing ambulatory surgery. Little Journey’s long term aim is to deliver personalised end-to-end psychological preparation and support to families from the comfort and safety of their own home. Chris is currently working with the LEGO foundation to enhance Little Journey for neurodiverse children and to create a new module to learn about the needs, preferences and health behaviours of children before they come to hospital. Chris is currently performing a multi-centre randomised controlled trial funded by the NIHR Research for Patient Benefit scheme.
