Abstract
The Impact of COVID-19 on Cardiac Anaesthesia Workflow

After the spread of COVID19, the workflow of anesthesiologists has changed dramatically, especially about emergency surgery. Because almost all patients are not sure whether they are infected with COVID19 or not in emergency cases, we will discuss the workflow of anesthesiologists of emergency and elective surgery.

Since the spread of Covid19, an increasing number of hospitals have refused to see emergency patients. This is due to the lack of negative pressure operating rooms and insufficient Covid19 testing systems in municipal and prefectural hospitals. As a result, emergency cardiac surgeries have concentrated in our hospital.

To handle patients with COVID or without COVID tests, the operating room was divided into several zones, red, gray, and green. We introduce how to handle those patients in our hospital to prevent spreading the COVID virus in emergency cases.
